Happily it seems like this show is doing well enough to need its own topic.
Yay, Earl's tiny gay friend is back. I love him.
I think it's the little things that make this show so good. Jamie Pressley's amazing accent. The fact that Tiny Gay Friend's boyfriend was still wearing his impound lot jumpsuit on the Napa wine country weekend. Earl's brother and his sad little potato at the Science Fair.

Yay! Earl got picked up for the full season... first new comedy of the year to do so.

Isn't the tiny gay boyfriend also the spokesperson for Del Taco?

Yes he is. And that commercial is airing a lot. He's ubiquitous.

Ye gods Jason Lee is hairy.

The toenail clipping while Earl is asleep! As though he were a cat... and then "Oh good. I was beginning to worry they weren't growing." The brother touching the radiator again and again. Joy in her tiny bathtub. The smokeathon with Crab Man. Earl wiggling his head to "Push It" (I think that was the second most awesome dancing on television, after Wesley and Angel's). Oh, I love this show.

We had to pause the tivo after the toenail bit so we could just laugh and laugh and keep laughing.
This show is just...a half hour of unbridled joy.
Heh. Joy.

Looks like there is an Earl marathon tonight. I have Tivo set to record and will check it out.

I loved the Smokey and the Bandit episode. Soooo funny. They even did the bloopers at the end of the show just like in the actual movie.

I didn't get that until now. I was trying to figure out why we were suddenly getting undercredits. Though I enjoyed them... why does Jason Lee break into Ewok or Tatooine every time he flubs a line?

I caught the episode where he let his ex believe he was dead rather than break up with her. I wasn't that amused by it. I'm not sure if that episode is a good representation of the rest of the series, so I'll give it another go - but I don't know if it's my style of comedy.

The one with the little gay friend (I think the pilot) is pretty awesome. And so is the one with Joy's fancy figurine... I think that may be the best one so far.

I really dug the dead-ex episode. I like 3 sit-coms! I need help.

I don't know why. Sitcoms are wonderful... it's just their creators who have failed for the last two or three years.

I pity Joy. Her life is so pathetic, and she's so in it and of it that she doesn't even know.
Randy's paralysis on the bed when Joy and Earl broke in was pretty darn good. And so was everything to do with the ball chute... and, heck, everything else. "Do you talk that way to your igellitimate [sic] children?"

"Hol' da phone. Wha's dis?" Good god... Jaime Pressley could not be funnier. Or sweeter.

I just watched the finale and highly enjoyed it, except for the fact that I spent most of it obsessing over where I knew Paul, the guy Earl gave the money to, from. It paid off when I just closed my eyes and listened to his voice- that was good old Whistler, he of the Becoming voiceover and Angel mentoring.

The double-sized Earl was triply good. So much smart comedy and some tender moments, too.
Randy's sad imitation of his late-night conversations with Earl was sweet, and pitch-perfect acting. And I loved that somehow within the crazy farce they managed to deeply explore the essence of Darnell and Joy and their relationship.
It took me a while to realize that there were (at least) four different jokes playing out when Randy was wandering down the Mexican street, singing "In Spanish" along with the Spanish rendition of "Time After Time." My head is still spinning... I don't think I've ever seen that many punchlines converge.
And one does enjoy John Leguziamo. He dances, he sings, he steals people's pants. I loved (and identified) every one of those '80s references. "Wildcats!" had me on the floor. That was the best moment ever to come out of Red Dawn.
